Victim Comments
· I’m grateful to everyone for helping keep a child out of the court system.
· Good kids have the chance to right things without court.
· I would give the program a five because it involved the whole community in the process.
· I think it is important to give back to the community after what this incident took from the community.
· It is very difficult for most people to apologize, and I think she was very gracious. It was very important for her and for us that she apologized.
Family Comments
· This it the best program for any child. My son loved this program and has done a lot to get to this point in his life and this was the best for me. I am so grateful for this program.
· I think he ended up putting much more time and effort into "making things right" then he likely would have had court been the option; however, I also believe he gained more then can really be tabulated as a response.
· You have a great process!
· This program is the most appropriate for my son's circumstances. Only good things can benefit from this Restorative Justice Process. I am way pleased to see that our state and the justice system are concerned about the well being of the children/young adults heading in the wrong direction this will make a big difference in the self healing and correction of his behavior.
· Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this in a positive manner - It was great for the boys to sit down and discuss the entire incident and learn the personal nature of how this affected the victim.
· Excellent! I feel the Restorative Justice committee has had a wonderful positive influence on our family. Thank you for the fairness and support through this process.
· This program is positive on all young adults, it gives them a second chance to learn to live with mistakes and move on.
· I think this is a very helpful program for kids, due to talking about feelings how it made other people feel and to realize the importance of being a good citzen. Im very glad this program exists. Thank you.
· This is a great program. The kids really need to know how their actions affected the victim. They would not have known that in a court case. This process is much more productive for all parties involved.
· I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but I know that it would be very difficult for all of us to talk about. The more we talked, the easier it became. I feel very grateful to Restorative Justice, but also to the victim for sharing with the girls the impact it had on her and her employer.
· I think it’s a good (great) way to address first time offenders in these cases.
