Maine Coastal Regional Reentry Center

The Maine Coastal Regional Reentry Center (MCRRC) located in Belfast, Maine is a residential program serving Hancock, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadohoc, Waldo, and Washington Counties. This facility will house up to 60 adult males classified as minimum or community security who are nearing the completion of their period of incarceration (final 6 – 18 months), and who have been assessed as moderate to high risk for recidivating.

The overarching goal of MCRRC is to provide maximum support for an inmate’s successful reentry back into their home community. RJP will offer Group and Individual Mentoring while incarcerated at the facility, as well as Community Resolution Conferencing and/or Healing Circles to help facilitate the inmates’ healthy and productive return to their families and communities.

Upon release to their home community, RJP will provide continued mentoring for select individuals in their home communities for a period of at least, six months. A critical goal is to help inmates accept responsibility for their actions and to break the patterns that led them into the circumstances of their crime. Serving as mentors, volunteers assist participants with such issues as housing, employment, healthcare and family relationships.
